Chapter 1. Shipwrecked Sea Goats The irascible sea, its waters choppy and churning, seethed as the ship lurched and bobbed on the waves. Its passengers, a motley crew of seafarers, were helpless against the relentless onslaught of the elements. As night fell, they had no recourse but to resign themselves to their fate and hope for a miraculous reprieve. Under the gloom of the night sky, one passenger remained awake, his eyes fixed upon the horizon.

He was an old man with a worn face and weathered hands, a sailor by trade who had seen his share of storms. His name was Carver and he had seen more than most in his long life at sea. Any other sailor would have been too shaken by such tempestuous conditions to even contemplate continuing on their voyage; however, Carver was different. He was a man of immense fortitude with an indomitable spirit that refused to be broken by nature's fury.

As Carver peered into the abyssal depths below him, he thought he saw something strange among the writhing sea creatures illuminated by moonlight - two small figures clinging desperately to an old wooden plank that bobbed atop the waves like a cork in a bottle. They were goats! But not just any goats; these were sea goats! And not just any sea goats – these were shipwrecked sea goats!

Carver's heart swelled with compassion for these poor creatures who had been so cruelly cast away from their home. In that moment he knew what must be done - he must act quickly if there was any chance of saving them from certain death in those icy waters. He scrambled down into one of the dinghies tied to the side of the ship and soon enough he was rowing towards them with all his might as they drifted further away with each passing second.

When at last he was close enough to reach out and grab them both he did so without hesitation, lifting them up into his arms where they shivered against his chest as if they knew they had been saved from certain doom. Back aboard the ship Carver tended to their wounds and nursed them back to health until at last they were ready for their journey home. With time running short before dawn broke over the horizon, Carver loaded them both into one of the dinghies along with some food and water for sustenance on their journey back across open seas towards safety.
