Vampire Esteem
Chapter 1. The night sky was a starless void, the only source of light coming from the full moon that shone brightly above. The shadows cast by the trees rustled in the breeze and the night was still. This was the perfect place for vampires to hide and they had done so for many centuries. It was here that young vampire, Esteem, had been born into their ranks.
She had grown up with a low sense of self-worth, never feeling accepted or appreciated by her peers or elders. Even though she tried to fit in by hiding her true self away and blending in with her surroundings, it wasn’t enough to make her feel truly accepted or understood. One night as she walked through the forest she heard a voice whisper to her in an ancient language. “I can help you find your true self-esteem,” it said to her.
Startled by this sudden message, Esteem looked around for its source but found nothing except darkness and silence. After a moment of hesitation, she decided to follow the voice’s instructions and ventured deeper into the forest until she reached a small clearing where an ancient tree stood tall and proud among its peers. It was here that Esteem found a hidden door which opened up into another realm entirely; a realm of vampires who were living their lives freely without fear or shame of judgment from others.
The vampires welcomed Esteem with open arms and soon enough she found herself enjoying life among them; learning how to fly, how to hunt their prey without killing it and most importantly how to accept herself as one of them despite not being fully accepted by everyone else in her own world. With time Esteem grew more confident in herself and learned that it was okay to be different from everyone else; it made her unique and special instead of making her feel like an outsider all the time like before. She realised that self-acceptance is something that needs to come from within rather than from others around you and that having your own sense of worth is much more important than trying to fit into someone else’s idea of who you should be.
Finally after months of learning how to embrace herself as one of them, Esteem returned home with newfound strength and courage; no longer worrying about what others thought or said about her but instead focusing on loving herself for who she truly was inside - strong, brave and capable - despite not fitting into anyone else’s definition of normalcy or perfection. Esteem now lives happily amongst both worlds - human and vampire - embracing both sides equally while remaining true to who she is on the inside regardless of any external pressures or expectations placed upon her by society. She has learnt that being yourself is always worth more than trying to conform for acceptance which has given her newfound strength, courage and self-esteem which will remain with her for eternity!
