Chapter 1. Lost in the Thicket Once upon a time, there was a very cute little hedgehog named Prickles. Prickles lived in a magical forest with many other animals. Every day, Prickles would explore the forest and take in its beauty.
One day, Prickles decided to go on an especially long adventure. He ventured deep into the forest and soon became lost. He kept walking and walking, but nothing looked familiar to him.
He was so worried that he started to cry. Suddenly, he heard a voice calling his name. It was his best friend, Fluffy the squirrel!
Fluffy had followed Prickles into the forest and had been searching for him for hours. She hugged him tightly and told him everything would be alright. Together they walked out of the thicket and back home to their friends in the magical forest.
Prickles was so relieved that he had been found! On their way back home they picked wildflowers and made daisy chains to wear around their necks to remind them of their adventure in the thicket – even if it wasn’t as fun as they had expected! From then on, whenever Prickles went exploring, Fluffy always followed close behind – just in case!
