The Chestnut and the Clan
Chapter 1. Once upon a time, there was a chestnut tree that stood in the middle of a big field. Every day, the chestnut tree watched as the members of a small family went about their lives, playing and laughing in the sun. The family consisted of two parents and three children—a brother and two sisters.
They were happy together until one summer when their father passed away suddenly. The mother was grief-stricken and didn't want to leave her husband's side for even an instant. She had to work hard every day to provide for her children, and she was exhausted from all the extra effort.
One day, when she was feeling particularly sad, she looked out at the chestnut tree in the field and decided that she wanted to make her own family tradition out of it. She asked her children if they would pick the chestnuts from its branches each summer, so they could roast them over an open fire during their autumn harvest celebrations. The children agreed with enthusiasm, but when they approached the chestnut tree to start picking its fruits, they found that it was more stubborn than they thought.
Every time they tried to pick a nut off its branches, it seemed to move further away from them! Finally, after many attempts and much persistence on their part, they managed to pick enough nuts for their harvest celebration — much to their mother's delight! From then on, it became an annual event for them: every year at harvest time, they'd go out into the field together and pick as many chestnuts as possible from the stubborn tree!
The Chestnut Tree became an important symbol in their lives — one that reminded them of their father and gave them strength during difficult times. It also brought joy into their hearts whenever they remembered him and what he meant to them all those years ago. The Chestnut Tree will always be remembered fondly by this family who learned how important it is to appreciate life’s small moments together.
