Angel Pond

Chapter 1. The sun was setting in the sky, casting an orange hue over the Angel Pond. The pond was abandoned, and its surface seemed to ripple with a stillness that was almost palpable. The boy stood at the edge of the pond, his feet rooted to the ground as he looked into its depths. He felt a strange connection to this place, like he had been here before or maybe in another life.

Before he could explore this feeling further, a voice called out from behind him. "What are you doing here?" The boy spun around and saw an elderly woman standing there. She was wearing a long white dress and her silver hair fell in waves down her back.

In her hands she held two figures - statues of angels with wings spread wide and faces turned upward towards the heavens. For a moment, the boy was too stunned to speak - all he could do was stare at these beautiful figures in awe. The woman smiled and said, "These are my guardian angels; I come here every day to talk to them and thank them for watching over me." The boy finally managed to find his tongue and asked why she had chosen this place for her daily prayer ritual.

She explained that it had been her favourite spot since she was a young girl; it was where she'd spent many hours dreaming about what life would bring her in the future. Now that she had grown old and most of her dreams had come true, this pool of angels offered her solace from all of life's worries and uncertainties. The woman looked up at the sky as if searching for something beyond this world, then turned back to him with an expression full of love and wisdom. "Life is full of surprises," she said softly, "but if you look closely enough you will always find something beautiful.

" With that, she handed him one of the statues – a kind gesture meant only for him – then walked away without another word. As he watched her disappear into the fading light, he knew that his visit here would stay with him forever; it was like his own personal miracle – something beautiful found in an unlikely place. He held onto his angel statue tight as if it were his own little piece of heaven on earth; then ran home under the stars feeling thankful for what life had brought him today – hope for tomorrow.
