Lost and Found Light

Chapter 1. The sun had already set and darkness was quickly descending upon the forest. A young boy, perhaps no more than ten years of age, had become lost in the thicket of trees. He had been walking for what felt like hours, but he could not find his way out. Every time he thought he was close to the edge of the wood, he would stumble across another wall of foliage and be forced back into the depths of the forest.

He stopped for a moment and looked around him. The air was still and quiet; all he could hear were the crickets chirping in the distance. As his eyes adjusted to the dim light, he noticed a faint glow emanating from behind a nearby tree.

With a flicker of hope, he quickened his pace towards it. As he approached, it became clear that what he was seeing was not natural light but something more ethereal. He stepped closer and saw that it seemed to be coming from an object – a small glass orb – which was radiating warmth and comfort.

He stood there mesmerised by its beauty until finally, after some hesitation, he reached out and took it in his hands. The moment his fingers touched it, the orb began to glow brighter until its light filled up the entire clearing with a golden hue. Suddenly overwhelmed by its power, the boy fell to his knees and began to cry with joy as newfound courage flooded through his veins.

He held onto this source of light tightly as if it were an anchor keeping him safe from any danger that might lie within these woods. Nothing else mattered except for this newfound discovery; nothing else existed outside of this momentary bliss that had awoken within him amidst this seemingly endless night. With newfound determination, he rose up with this orb in hand and set off out of the woods in search for home once again – only this time with confidence that no matter what lay ahead or how dark it may get, all would be well so long as he had found his lost and found light at last!
