Jess slowly turned around and saw a tiny dragon standing in front of her! The dragon had beautiful green scales and big golden eyes. The dragon explained that it had been lost in the forest for days and was very hungry.

Jess smiled and offered to help him find his way back home. The dragon gratefully accepted her offer and they set off together. Along the way, they talked about their favorite things and told each other stories.

Before long, they were best friends! When they reached the edge of the forest, Jess gave the dragon some food from her picnic basket and said goodbye as he flew away into the sky. Jess never forgot her fiery friend and every day when she went out to pick wildflowers, she looked up into the sky hoping to see him flying by again one day!
