The Sloth Who Could!
Chapter 1. Once upon a time there was a sloth named Steve who wanted to be a race car driver. Everyone laughed at him, saying that a slow-moving sloth had no chance of ever becoming a race car driver. Undaunted, Steve decided to prove them all wrong.
He began studying the rules of the road and learning how to drive. He even bought himself a tiny race car and spent hours in his driveway practicing his driving skills. Finally, Steve felt he was ready to enter his first race.
Everyone gathered on the sidelines to watch as he slowly crawled up behind the starting line. The other drivers revved their engines, ready to go, but Steve just sat there quietly waiting for the starting gun. When it fired, all the other cars shot off in a flash leaving poor Steve way behind.
But then something amazing happened! As everyone watched with amazement, Steve slowly but surely began to gain on the other cars! Cheers erupted from the sidelines as he passed one car after another until finally he pulled into first place!
The crowd went wild as Steve crossed the finish line in first place! From then on, Steve became known far and wide as “The Sloth Who Could”–a hero with an amazing will and determination!
