An Owl of Gratitude
Chapter 1. and friendship. Once upon a time, there was a wise old owl who lived in a tall tree in the middle of a beautiful forest. The animals of the forest all loved and respected this wise old owl for his kind and gentle demeanor and for his incredible knowledge.
One day, the animals of the forest gathered around the base of the tall tree to hear what wisdom the wise old owl had to impart. After several moments of silence, he spoke: "My dearest friends," said the wise old owl, "I have seen many things in my life, and I have learned that gratitude is one of the most powerful forces in life. It is only through gratitude that we can truly appreciate what we have and recognize our blessings.
" The animals were amazed at this wisdom and thanked the wise old owl for sharing it with them. They all vowed to be more grateful for all they had been given. The wise old owl smiled contentedly at his audience before continuing.
"But there is one thing more important than gratitude," he said, "and that is friendship." The animals were curious as to what he meant by this, so he explained further: "You see, when we are grateful for our blessings and share them with others—especially our friends—we make those blessings even greater!
" The animals were moved by his words and thanked him again for his wisdom before dispersing back into their homes in the forest. From then on out, they shared their blessings with each other with great joy and appreciation—all thanks to the wise old owl!
