Sleighless in December
Chapter 1. . Once upon a time Santa Claus lost his sleigh. He was devastated. He went to the North Pole and asked his elves for help.
The elves said they would build him a new one, but it would take months and cost lots of money. Santa was very sad but he agreed. Meanwhile, Santa had to find a way to deliver presents on Christmas Eve. He thought of an idea: he would rent a truck!
He went down to the local truck rental company and asked to rent a truck for one night. But when he got there, he found out that all the trucks were already rented out for Christmas Eve! The rental clerk told him that if he wanted a truck, he had better hurry because there were only two left in the entire city! Santa was desperate so he begged the clerk to give him one of those last two trucks.
The clerk finally relented and gave him the keys to one of them, but warned him that it was old and not in very good condition. Santa thanked him profusely and drove away with the truck. He loaded up all of his presents and took off into the night sky as fast as he could go. Hours later, Santa arrived at his destination… only to find out that none of the presents had been delivered!
It turns out that the old truck had broken down halfway through his journey, leaving Santa stranded in a snowstorm with no way of delivering any presents at all! Distraught, Santa trudged back home with his tail between his legs… only to find out that while he had been gone, the elves had finished building his brand new sleigh! Santa was overjoyed and quickly loaded up all of his presents onto it before flying off into the night sky once again… never again having to worry about renting a truck for Christmas Eve ever again!
