Raccoon's Resolve: A Tail of Dogish Devotion



Chapter 1. , but has to prove his loyalty first. Once upon a time there was a raccoon who wanted nothing more than to be treated like a dog. He thought that if he could become a pet, he would finally have the love and attention he so desperately desired.

So, one day the raccoon decided to approach a human and ask if they might be willing to keep him as a pet. The human hesitated at first, as they had never heard of such an idea before. However, the raccoon was so sincere and determined that the human eventually agreed to take him in – under one condition.

The human said that before the raccoon could stay with them, he had to prove his loyalty. The raccoon was so excited at the prospect of becoming a pet that he readily agreed and began thinking of ways to prove himself worthy. First, he tried bringing home gifts from his nightly scavenging sessions - feathers, nuts, berries - but this didn't seem to impress the human much.

Next, he tried performing tricks like fetching sticks or rolling over - but these attempts were met with polite smiles and nothing more. Finally, after days of trying different things, the raccoon had an idea: He scurried off into the woods and came back dragging an enormous log behind him! He dropped it at the feet of his potential owner with a triumphant smile on his face – and sure enough it did the trick!

The human was amazed by the kind gesture and finally agreed that the raccoon could stay with them as their pet! From then on they lived happily together – now you know why it's said: “A loyal raccoon is worth its weight in logs!
